In the marketplace there is constant debate – do you purchase a single fully integrated HR solution or should you be looking to leverage multiple best of breed solutions? How does one decide?
There are benefits of both approaches, and there are downsides. However the benefits and downsides are not the same for all organisations. This makes the decision on how to go forward more complex than personal preference.
In our research we have found that for some functional areas, for example Payroll, organisations who use a fully integrated solution are more satisfied than those who have a standalone solution. That being said while a fully integrated solution might increase satisfaction and reduce your technology landscape complexity they might limit the functionality available to your organisation.
